Are volunteers covered under the workers compensation policy?
No, but the Office of Risk Management maintains a volunteer accident policy designed to provide a medical expense benefit to injured employees. Please report all claims to the Claims Manager.
Do we report the payroll for part time employees?
Yes, part-time employees are covered under our Workers Compensation program; therefore, their payroll must be reported.
I received a dividend invoice? How do I get a refund?
All refunds should be requested in writing and sent to the Massachusetts Catholic Self-Insurance Group, Inc. You can send your requests either by mail to the address on the invoice, or by fax to 617-779-4572, or via email.
I have an employee who receives a 1099; do we include that payroll on the payroll audit forms?
No. A worker who receives a 1099 is considered an independent contractor and independent contractors are not covered under the Workers Compensation program.
Are part time employees covered?
Any employee on your payroll, whether full-time or part-time, is covered under the Workers Compensation program and their payroll must be reported.
Are priests covered under the Workers Compensation policy?
Generally, priests are not covered under the Workers Compensation program; however, they may have the option to be covered. Please contact the Office of Risk Management directly for more information.
An employee was injured on the job. How do I report the claim?
